Trusted County Report

Write for us

We welcome thoughtful pitches about county landscapes, boundaries, place names, settlements and the careful reading of records. A strong proposal explains the question, the reader it serves and why the subject deserves a clear, lasting explanation.

What suits the publication

Propose an original, evergreen piece that helps a general reader understand a particular aspect of county geography or heritage. We are interested in focused explanations, well-framed comparisons, histories of an idea or object, and guides to interpreting material such as maps or place names.

Shape a useful pitch

Tell us the working title, central question, main points and likely sources or evidence. Be clear about what the piece can establish and where interpretation or uncertainty begins. Avoid broad surveys, unsupported claims and material that depends on unverified local rules.

Sending a proposal

Please send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is not a commission, and we will consider whether its scope, evidence and approach fit the publication.
